Double Sheath Kevlar Yarn Reinforced ADSS Fiber Optic Cable
Description
ADSS (All Dielectric Self-Supporting) cables are designed with loose tube stranded construction to ensure
optimal performance and durability. The optical fibers are securely mounted in high modulus plastic tubes
filled with a waterproof compound that effectively protects them from moisture. These tubes, along with the
filler, are stranded around a central strength member made of non-metallic FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) to
form a compact and round cable core.
For further protection, the core is filled with a filling compound and wrapped in a thin polyethylene (PE) inner
sheath. For further reinforcement, a layer of stranded aramid yarn is applied to the inner sheath. Finally, the
cable is finished with an outer sheath that can be either polyethylene (for standard applications) or
anti-tracking (for high electrical stress environments).
This rugged construction ensures that ADSS cables are extremely durable, moisture resistant, and able to
withstand a wide range of environmental conditions. This makes them ideal for both aerial and underground
installations, providing reliable performance in a range of applications.
Application
1. The design of ADSS cables considers the real-time conditions of overhead power lines, ensuring optimal
performance and durability in such environments.
2. PE outer sheaths are employed for power lines below 110kV, while AT outer sheaths are utilized for
power lines operating at 110kV and above to provide enhanced protection.
3. Specific design elements, including the dosage of aramid yarn and the twisting process, are tailored to
effectively meet varying span requirements. This ensures that the cable can operate reliably across
different installation scenarios.
Characteristics
1. Enables installation without the need for a power shutdown, minimizing service disruptions during
deployment.
2. Its lightweight and compact diameter reduce strain from ice, wind, tower, and backpropagation loads,
thereby enhancing the cable's durability and overall performance.
3. Engineered for a lifespan of 30 years, ensuring long-term reliability and cost-effectiveness in infrastructure
projects.
4. Exhibits robust tensile strength and temperature resilience, guaranteeing consistent performance across
diverse environmental conditions.
